SPRING SEASON 2017
Sunday 26th February 3pm
A group of postgraduate singers from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama will be making a short tour of the south west, beginning at Powderham Castle and culminating at The Old Chapels. Their programme includes arias and ensembles from Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Cosi fan tutte, from Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, and numerous of the most familiar numbers from G&S operettas. This will be a delightful and refreshing afternoon of song from some singers whose accumulated experience is already staggering; what better way to invite Spring to Parbrook! www.rwcmd.ac.uk |
Sunday 2nd April 3pm The return visit of Joo Yeon Sir – the young South Korean violinist whose playing impressed us all so much some two years ago. Joo Yeon will be bringing with her a new duo partner, the equally-talented Laura Snowden, for a recital of music for violin and guitar. Both will play solos as well as original compositions and arrangements for this unusual combination of instruments. Since her last visit you will not be at all surprised to hear that Joo Yeon has had a full diary including solo performances at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, live on Radio 3 and in recitals across the UK. Her style and virtuosity in undoubted; an occasion not to be missed at The Old Chapels. Joo Yeon and Laura are planning a programme to include Bach, Debussy, Villa Lobos, De Falla and Piazzolla. www.jooyeonsir.com www.laurasnowden.co.uk |

The final concert of the season is to be given by piano duettists Filippo Di Bari and Giulia Semerano. These highly-experienced and charming young Italian pianists have completed postgraduate degrees at Trinity Laban conservatoire and now enthusiastically tour individually and as a duo playing and lecturing. They are planning a programme to include music by Schumann and Ravel.
